Arsenal will be without Kieran Tierney this afternoon.

The Gunners are gearing up for a difficult visit to Aston Villa but Mikel Arteta won’t have his star player available.

Arsenal’s official website released a statement about their injured parties and Tierney, unfortunately, remains sidelined with leg discomfort.

The former Celtic left-back has created more goalscoring chances than anybody else in Arteta’s squad this season.

He is having a wonderful campaign but there is some concern about his fitness, because a number of ailments saw him endure something of a stop-start first season in North London last term.

Here’s how some Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter to the fact that the Scot – who’s missed their last four matches – remains unavailable.

Cedric Soares might be set to deputise for Tierney and with the wide players Villa have at their disposal, like Bertrand Traore, it could be a difficult afternoon for the former Southampton man.

Victory would see Villa – who have two games in hand – extend their lead over 10th-placed Arsenal to four points.
