Liverpool fans aren’t keen on reports that Jurgen Klopp could offload Joel Matip in the summer.
The Sunday World claims that Matip is up for sale at Anfield, with Liverpool looking to cash in on the central defender.
Matip has generally been a reliable presence in Liverpool’s team when called upon throughout his time at the club.
However, with injury problems stacking up, it seems that the club has decided that he could move on.
The news that Liverpool may listen to offers for the Cameroonian centre-back hasn’t gone down particularly well with many supporters, though.
If Liverpool were to let go of Matip they would be under even more pressure to bring in another centre-back.
Matip may be injury prone, but there is little doubting his quality when he is fit.
And his departure would only weaken Liverpool in a position where they have struggled for cover with this term, even after Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak were brought in during January.
