Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club announced that Jamie Barjonas had joined Ayr United on loan until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old hasn’t kicked a ball for Rangers this term, despite being named on the bench by Steven Gerrard a number of times.

Transfermarkt shows that Barjonas has been named on the bench twice in the Scottish Premiership, and six times in the Europa League.

Sadly, Gerrard hasn’t given him an opportunity to build on his nine first-team appearances for Rangers.

At 22, Barjonas can hardly be considered an up-and-coming prospect anymore, so a loan move is certainly necessary.

Judging by the reactions of a few fans below, the Leeds born midfielder has a bit of talent.

One supporter said they’re sad to see him leave Ibrox, while another said they felt he was good enough to at least stay in Scotland’s top-flight.

Barjonas will be playing in Scotland’s second tier with Ayr United for the rest of the season.

Elsewhere, another fan said we’ll probably never see the Scotland Under-19 international at Ibrox again.

They added that Barjonas has been let down by the state of the club’s youth system before Gerrard arrived in Glasgow.

Let’s see what some more Rangers fans have been saying about the club’s tweet…
