Chris Sutton has criticised Tottenham Hotspur target and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in The Daily Mail for his performance for England against Senegal at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
The former Chelsea striker believes that Everton goalkeeper Pickford, linked with a move to Antonio Conte’s Tottenham, had two bad moments for England in their Round of 16 tie against Senegal on Sunday evening.
The Three Lions got the better of Senegal 3-0 to book their place in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
England will now face reigning world champions France for a place in the last four.
Pickford did not have much to do in the game, but he did make a couple of good saves.
While Sutton has acknowledged that, the BBC Sport pundit has noted that there were a couple of moments where the goalkeeper could have done better.
Pickford has been linked with Tottenham.
90min reported last month that the Everton goalkeeper is one of the players Tottenham are looking at as a potential long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
France international Lloris is the number one goalkeeper at Spurs, but he is in his mid-30s now, and the North London club need to have a long-term replacement in place soon.

Sutton wrote about Pickford: “Stayed big for Ismaila Sarr’s early chance and then made a decent save to deny Boulaye Dia.
“Gave fans a couple of heart-in-mouth moments with the ball at his feet as Senegal pressed aggressively but the goalkeeper then went long to good effect. Barely involved after the break.”
