There was always going to be some players who improved quite a lot at Tottenham Hotspur once Jose Mourinho was fired.
Mourinho, for whatever reason, has a special way of making some very talented footballers not want to show their best under him.
Gareth Bale is a pretty good example of that, somebody who scored a hat-trick a week after the Portuguese was sacked by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, having barely played the Welshman.
But another player who looks bang in form under interim coach Ryan Mason is Eric Dier.
The England defender has started and finished all three games under Mason so far and he looks a little more like the player who Tottenham valued at £50 million a few years ago.
The Lilywhites released some training-ground footage of the player at Hotspur Way this afternoon.
And here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to it on Twitter:
Tottenham have a difficult game against Leeds United on Saturday.
But Dier, going by his training-ground enthusiasm, certainly seems well up for it – and he needs to be.
Leeds have taken points off every big club you can think of at Elland Road this season and if Mason’s side aren’t on their game, Spurs will join Liverpool, Arsenal and both Manchester clubs in failing to win in West Yorkshire.
