Simon Jordan has suggested on talkSPORT (10:26am, February 13, 2023) that Leeds United should not look to make Chris Wilder their new manager.

The former Crystal Palace owner has suggested that Leeds should not appoint the former Sheffield United and Middlesbrough boss as their new manager.

Leeds are on the hunt for a new manager after sacking Jesse Marsch last week.

The West Yorkshire club relieved the American boss of his duties following a run of poor results.

The Whites are in real danger of getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

Leeds United warned against appointing Chris Wilder

Jordan said: “I didn’t think Chris Wilder. I would have my head in my hands again if that’s the conversation.”

TalkSPORT pundit Jim White asked: “Chris Wilder to Leeds?

Jordan responded: “Hmm. I would be perplexed if that’s an outcome that would provide a happy and together fanbase given the fact that he managed Sheffield United.”

Unlikely to happen

In our view, it is unlikely that Leeds United will appoint Chris Wilder as their new manager now.

There are no credible reports in the media claiming that Wilder is a candidate for the Leeds managerial role.

We do not think that the hierarchy of the Premier League club will make such a move.

The 55-year-old is a very good manager who knows English football inside out.

Wilder did well at Sheffield United, but it did not end well.

And his spell at Middlesbrough did not go particularly well either.

We do not think that Leeds will bring in Wilder now.
