Speaking on The Done Deal Show, journalist Dean Jones has given an update on Lautaro Martinez’s situation at Inter amid links to Tottenham and Arsenal.
The Argentine is a wanted man this summer, with both north London clubs looking into signing him, and while there is strong interest, Inter are determined to keep him.
Indeed, Jones says there have been no positive signs from Inter that this is a deal that could be done. However, the journalist claims that the Argentine’s head has been turned by this interest from the Premier League.
What’s been said?
Jones gave an update on Martinez.
“I checked on this yesterday and the situation hasn’t moved forward. Lautaro Martinez looks like he’ll be staying with Inter Milan. There have been no signs for Tottenham or Arsenal, or anybody else that Inter will be willing to sell him,” Jones said.
“There have been noises that Lautaro is happy at Inter, and a new contract is in the offing, and maybe that will happen, but the fact is that Lautaro’s head has been turned by the Premier League, he wants to give it a go at some point, and there are various players in Inter’s squad who want to move, and Lautaro is one of them.”

One for the future
Inter obviously don’t want to lose Martinez this summer after selling Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea, and it seems as though he may be staying.
However, with Martinez’s head being turned by the Premier League, this could be a move that Arsenal and Tottenham look into in the future.
It may not happen this summer, but don’t write off the possibility of the Argentie coming to north London one day.
