Kevin Campbell told the Highbury Squad that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would have left in the summer if he wanted to.

The Arsenal legend also claimed that Aubameyang could easily earn the money he is currently earning in Spain.

Before a ball was kicked this season, there was a lot of talk dragging on from the previous campaign about Aubameyang’s future at the club.

Despite a long delay, the £60 million hitman (Sky Sports) committed his future to the club.

Following Aubameyang being dropped for the North London derby last week, Campbell was talking about Aubameyang’s decision to stay on at the club.

“If Aubameyang wanted to leave then he would have been gone,” said Campbell. “All these people in chat must understand. Players have the power now.

“And if Aubameyang didn’t want to stay then there is no way that he would be at the football club. It’s not about the money.  He can get that money anywhere.

Campbell is then told that Auba wouldn’t get that money in Spain: “Pardon? Easy (get £300k-a-week), of course, he would. So, what would he have got then?

“He’s getting 300 plus in Spain.”

Whilst Aubameyang put pen-to-paper on a new deal many months ago now, Arsenal fans will be wondering how on earth his form has fallen off a cliff.

He has gone from being Arsenal’s best and most important player to falling behind a number of individuals in that pecking order.
