Chris Wilder to Celtic is slowly but surely gathering some pace.
The 53-year-old is one of several names heavily linked with being Neil Lennon’s long-term successor in Glasgow.
According to The Scottish Sun, Wilder, who was sacked by Sheffield United this month, has no plans on taking a break from football and is actively looking for a new job.
And one of his former players has backed him to do wonders at Celtic.
David McGoldrick, speaking to talkSPORT, said: “I’m sure he’ll get a job somewhere. Celtic need someone to go in there with big ideas, Wilder will go in there with his own ideas.
“He would change that club, he’d get the boys playing for them.”
John Kennedy, Lennon’s former assistant, is presently in charge of the senior side following the Irishman’s resignation in the month of February.
But with the calibre of names linked to the post, Kennedy might well struggle to earn the job on a full-time basis – and it’s probably right.
Rangers have just walked to their first Premiership title since 2011 due to Celtic having a horrific season.
It’s vitally important for the Hoops that they get this appointment right because the last thing they want to do is let the Gers enjoy a lengthy period of success over the coming years.
