Clinton Morrison has shared his thoughts on the future of West Ham United transfer target Folarin Balogun at his parent club Arsenal.

The 21-year-old is currently thriving on-loan at Ligue 1 side Reims in France, where he has scored an impressive 19 goals from 34 games.

But when Folarin Balogun returns to Arsenal in the summer, Morrison stated that the speedster will ‘definitely go’, as he told Sky Sports News (20/05/23 at 12:10 pm).

During this past week, the all-action striker made a huge call in his career as he decided, after repping England in the younger age groups, to switch allegiances and now represent the USA.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry reacted to that move, which now sees the Hale-End academy product under more spotlight because he is now the USMNT’s main number nine ahead of the 2026 World Cup in the USA.

Nonetheless, with the summer transfer window open, former Crystal Palace striker Morrison was asked to share his thoughts on the future of Balogun.

“Balogun will definitely go,” said Morrison. “He is on-loan, at the moment. He is playing ever so well. But I think he will leave.”

WEST HAM LINKED WITH ARSENAL’S FOLARIN BALOGUN

For large parts of the season, West Ham were battling relegation, but in recent weeks, they have picked themselves and ensured their safety.

Added to that, they are also in a European final after beating AZ Alkmaar in the European Conference League semi-final in midweek, with the Hammers now one game away from securing that all-important trophy for the first time since 1980.

Well, ahead of the summer transfer window opening, David Moyes’ side are keen on Balogun’s talents, as the East London side look for a new striker, despite bringing in the now-flopped, Gianluca Scamacca last summer.
