Jose Enrique has claimed on Instagram that he thinks Takumi Minamino ‘will leave’ Liverpool this summer.

But the former left-back is unsure about the injury-prone, Naby Keita, and whether Liverpool will sign another number eight.

Minamino, who can operate out wide and through the middle, was on-loan at Southampton for the second half of last season.

But the 26-year-old didn’t exactly pull up trees and there are suggestions that he is fighting for his Anfield future.

Enrique was asked on Liverpool Goals Instagram post what he thinks will happen with Minamino and Keita, he issued this response in the comments section:

“I think Taki will leave and Naby depends on the injuries,” said Enrique. “And if were sign a number eight.”

This is a big pre-season for Minamino and he has to get off to a great start, else it’s going to be a serious battle for him.

Even if Minamino does the business in pre-season, he will more than likely start from the bench for Liverpool’s Premier League opener because it’s going to be pretty difficult pushing ahead the usual front three.

But as Diogo Jota has proven, if you can make enough noise then you can force your way into the XI or even push Jurgen Klopp to play four up top.

Either way, Minamino needs this season to work, else by the winter transfer window, he might be finding a new home.
