Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has raved about his Anfield teammate Fabio Carvalho in O Jogo.
The Brazil international forward has said that Liverpool attacking player Carvalho is “great”, and is confident that 20-year-old will show his value for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the coming weeks and months.
Liverpool signed the 20-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, from Fulham in the summer of 2022.
The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners had to pay £5 million (The Athletic) for the Portugal Under-21 international.
Roberto Firmino on Liverpool teammate Fabio Carvalho
Firmino told O Jogo, as transcribed by TEAMtalk: “He’s a great player. I confess that I had watched some of his games before he came to Liverpool. So I was already impressed by the way he played.
“He’s a star, he’s a great player and now he’s also a very close friend. We are happy to have him here at Liverpool and I know he will help us a lot, with assists, goals and also his character on the pitch.”

Big player for the Reds
In our view, Liverpool attacker Fabio Carvalho will be massive for the team as the season unfolds.
Liverpool have injury problems in midfield, and Carvalho is getting his chances right now.
The 20-year-old has made one start and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Merseyside club so far this season.
Carvalho has scored two goals in those matches.
Now, of course, we must not forget that the former Fulham star is only 20.
So, we should not expect too much from him right now.
But, if he is allowed a run of games, then he will deliver the goods.
