Some Aston Villa fans on social media have been worrying about a report from The Athletic claiming that Carney Chukwuemeka is attracting interest from top clubs in Europe who are willing to fast-track him into the first-team.
The youngster is yet to make his first-team debut at Aston Villa, but apparently there are teams in Europe who are keen to give him an opportunity.
As you can imagine, these reports have gotten the Villa fanbase talking.
Chukwuemeka is clearly a highly-rated player, with the report claiming that both Manchester City and Manchester United are interested in the 17-year-old.
Villa fans are worried that he could be on his way this summer, and to be fair they may be right to be worried.
We’ve seen a growing trend of young players swapping the Premier League for Europe, and the prospect of playing first-team football in a new league could be interesting for Chukwuemeka.
