Reported West Ham and Newcastle United target Henrique Dalbert is set to leave Inter Milan before next week’s transfer deadline, sporting director Piero Ausilio has told FantaCalcio.

While the Hammers and the Magpies appear to be looking at reinforcing areas of their squad over the next few days, news that a Brazilian left-back is available and on the market is unlikely to go unnoticed.

FC Inter News reported in August that Dalbert, three years after joining Inter in an £18 million deal, was a target for the Premier League duo.

The 27-year-old has failed to force his way into Antonio Conte’s plans at the San Siro. He spent last season on loan at Fiorentina and the subsequent arrivals of Ashley Young and Aleksandar Kolarov have all-but ended his underwhelming Nerazzuri career.

“He will go,” Ausilio said simply when asked about Dalbert’s future.

Newcastle, of course, have already reinforced a problematic left-back position by signing Jamal Lewis from Norwich.

Paul Dummett and Javi Manquillo are also capable of filling in so, if Dalbert, is going to move to England, the smart money should be on West Ham.

David Moyes appears to see Aaron Cresswell as a left-sided centre-back in a defensive trio rather than a wide player. And while Arthur Masuaku produced one of his finest appearances for the Hammers during the 4-0 thrashing of Wolves, he is never far away from a major dip in form.

Tuttomercatoweb believe that a Rennes side who secured Champions League qualification for the first time in their history last term are currently in pole position.

Dalbert, who enjoyed his best years at Nice, could return to France on loan with an option-to-buy clause set at £11 million.
