Gary Lineker told Match of the Day that Bukayo Saka ‘will come again’ after the Arsenal star saw his crucial penalty saved in the Euro 2020 final last night.

England were beaten on penalties against Italy in the cruellest of fashions, with Arsenal’s teenager stepping up and seeing his spot-kick handing Roberto Mancini’s side the crown of being champions of Europe.

It was a heartbreaking moment for Saka, who showed guts and desire to step up during such a pressured moment despite England coming out second-best.

After yesterday’s game, Lineker sent this classy message about Saka, who was in tears after the full-time whistle.

“Heartbreak on young Saka,” said Lineker. “So much pressure put on such young shoulders.

“But he will come again! This England team will come again! They will be competitive for the next 10-15 years because England has a great crop of very exciting players.”

Saka has been outstanding when called upon by England at Euro 2020 and he should, no doubt, hold his head high.

A lot of questions will be asked as to why the Arsenal teenager was the one having to step up during such a pressured moment, yet other senior stars were no one to be seen.

Was that the decision from Gareth Southgate? Or was he in a situation were very few players put their hands up to take penalties?

Either way, Saka will need picking up because this is the biggest blow to a career that has started in such a bright fashion.
