Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has inadvertently suggested on Twitch that Ainsley Maitland-Niles will be back at the club from West Bromwich Albion.

Maitland-Niles, who is playing as a midfielder at West Brom at the moment, joined the Baggies on loan from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Aubameyang has named the 23-year-old England international among the three quickest players at Arsenal.

The Gabon International striker has named Kieran Tierney and Reiss Nelson as the other two players in the top three.

Aubameyang has also suggested that Bukayo Saka meant his wonder-goal for Arsenal in their Premier League game against Chelsea in December 2020 and has included goalkeeper Bernd Leno in his five-a-side team.

The striker said on Twitch: “Top three, apart me, you put me on the side, I think Kieran Tierney. He asked me to do a race against him because the stats are talking for him, maybe he is quicker than me, so let’s do it. Then I think it was Ains, but he left but he will come back, so we can do a race whenever and Reiss is there as well.”

Aubameyang said about Saka’s goal: “I would say yes.”

The Arsenal said about Leno: ” I would say Leno because in the big games, in the good moments.”

Future at Arsenal?

While Aubameyang would love to race against Maitland-Niles, it will depend on whether or not the midfielder is still at Arsenal next season.

Not all players who go out on loan are able to succeed at their parent club upon their return, and it is not going to be easy for Maitland-Niles to make himself a key figure at Arsenal next season, especially as the Gunners have good players in that position.

According to WhoScored, the 23-year-old has played five times in the Premier League for West Brom this season.
