Gary Neville has claimed on Twitter that Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold will become ‘the best English right back ever’.

In the modern era, it could be argued that Neville himself is the best English RB ever, but a certain 22-year-old from Liverpool is testing him for that title.

After winning the Premier League title and the Champions League with his boyhood club, anything is possible for Alexander-Arnold, who is still years away from his peak.

But during a Q/A with supporters on his Twitter account, Sky pundit Neville was asked to share his thoughts on TAA, as he issued this response.

When it comes to defending, there is no doubt that Neville was better than the thriving Merseyside star.

But where TAA has taken his game, and the game of a fullback to another level, is what he does going forward.

There are not many better passers or crossers of the ball than the Englishman, and whilst his form has been up and down this season, he is still one of the best in Europe.

But with TAA yet to hit his peak, it begs the question of how many trophies and medals will be in his cabinet by the time he retires.
