Antonio Conte has told Tottenham Hotspur’s official website that Sergio Reguilon started yesterday’s match with a fitness problem.
Back quickly?
Reguilon went off in the first-half of Tottenham’s game against Norwich City and his thigh was heavily trapped.
Thankfully the Spaniard’s problem is not set to be a long-term one, as he is simply suffering from tiredness.
But Conte was impressed with Reguilon’s desire to play in the game, even though he wasn’t fully fit before the match.
He revealed after the game: “Reguilon is a generous player. He started the game and he wasn’t 100%. But I spoke with him at the end of the game and he said he stopped himself at the right time.
“I hope to have him back very soon. He’s not injured, I think it’s just fatigue in his muscle.”
Reguilon in strong form
Reguilon has been a key player under Conte so far, scoring once and claiming one assist in his last three appearances.
It is hardly surprising that he is tired either.

The Tottenham full-back, who cost £28 million to sign (Goal), actually spoke recently about how training under Conte has been so intense.
He said that he was feeling ‘dead’ and the demands on the training ground and playing matches has obviously caught up on him now.
Thankfully for Spurs, Ryan Sessegnon stepped in and impressed in Reguilon’s absence.
The young left-back needed a big performance as he looks to prove his worth for Spurs and he managed to show his talents, as Spurs picked up a comfortable 3-0 victory.
