The Tottenham Hotspur ace must win the Asian games with South Korea if he is to avoid national service.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media today during his pre-match press conference, ahead of his side’s clash with Watford on Sunday, and responded when asked whether he has spoken to Heung-Min Son about the possibility of the forward having to complete national service, as quoted by Football.London.
The South Korean is currently away on international duty, representing his country in the Asian games.
South Korea are in the final of the competition and face Japan tomorrow. If they win, Son will be exempt from having to perform national service.
Pochettino addressed the media today, and told reporters how he has spoken with the Tottenham ace about the prospect of him having to serve his country, as quoted by Football.London:

“Yes, it’s a subject that we talk about a lot. He was worried and he wants to deliver the victory and win because he wants to avoid it, of course.”
Son joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £18 million, and he has gone on to rack up 47 goals and 26 assists in 141 appearances in all competitions thus far.
