Thierry Henry has claimed that Steven Gerrard is Liverpool’s greatest ever player, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (13/04/22 at 7:35 pm).
The Premier League legend added that the now-Aston Villa boss was ‘unstoppable’ when he used to don Liverpool colours.
One of Gerrard’s former teammates, Jamie Carragher, was naming his greatest-ever Liverpool XI.
Of course, Gerrard was front and centre in Carragher’s XI, alongside a number of current players, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.
But when Carragher stated that Gerrard was Liverpool’s greatest ever player, Henry was asked if he agreed with that statement.
“Yes, I would say so,” said Henry. “I have always been a fan of Stevie G. When he was on tune, he was unstoppable.”

Not only is Gerrard one of Liverpool’s greatest ever players, but he is one of the icons of the Premier League era.
Some would say during his time at Arsenal and under the Highbury lights that no-one was the bigger king than Henry himself.
But it would have been something if a prime Gerrard and a prime Henry were on the same team anywhere in the world.
All of that is now a fantasy, but what the two produced in their respective colours is a reality and legendary.
