Bryan Gil has been speaking to the media ahead of Tottenham’s UEFA Conference League clash against Mura tomorrow evening.
The 20-year-old winger discussed his start to life at Spurs, and revealed that Sergio Reguilon has helped him ‘so much’ since his arrival.
What’s the story?
Well, Football London quote the Spaniard as saying: “I am very happy to be here, I have been made very welcome by the club and the players. Reggy has been helping me so much, he was the first one to contact me, he has helped me out so much.”
That’s great to hear.
When Gil was signed from Sevilla in a £21.6m deal – which also included Erik Lamela – you would’ve looked at Reguilon as a man who could help.
Thankfully, the £48,077-a-week left-back did just that, and it’s good to hear he was the first player to contact the youngster and help him settle in.
Gil was surely delighted that a fellow Spaniard was already waiting for him at Hotspur Way, and the pair seem to be getting on well.
Reguilon was the first one to congratulate Gil on his penalty in the recent shoot-out against Wolves, while he’s also been seen with his fellow countryman a lot in training.
Tottenham must start Bryan Gil

In our view, Nuno Espirito Santo must begin to hand Gil some starts – he’s earned them with his bright cameo displays.
The Spain Under-21 international has only played 50 minutes of Premier League football so far this season, but he is just what Spurs need.
Gil likes to dribble, he’s direct, and can make things happen in the final third.

A front three of Heung-min Son on the left, Harry Kane in the middle and Gil on the right is a mouthwatering prospect, one we think Nuno should use as soon as possible.
After three 3-0 defeats in a row in the Premier League, something certainly has to change – we think this could be the tactical move to spark something good.
