Charlie Nicholas has expressed his concern for Harry Kane’s fitness and claimed that he was ‘still blowing hard’ during the final 15 minutes of Tottenham’s win against Everton on Monday night, as he told Sky Sports.
Since restart, Kane has been trying to get his fitness back more than others because he had been out of action for Spurs since the turn of the year.
Whilst he has found the back of the net, the England man hasn’t seemingly been at his best as the games come thick and fast.
This was highlighted by Nicholas who stated how Kane hasn’t been rested since the restart, but also pointed out how Jose Mourinho cannot have that ‘luxury’ of doing it with his main man up top.
“I was thinking Harry Kane needed games to get fitness, ” Nicholas told Sky Sports. “But he was still blowing hard in the last 15 minutes. He has not got a rest. The likes of Dele Alli and Lucas Moura can get a rest as they can rotate those players in behind Kane. He cannot have that luxury. The energy levels look ragged as these matches are constant.
“The Carabao Cup and FA Cup allows players to get a rest, but there is no time for resting here. Jose Mourinho probably needed the result more than anyone against Everton.”
This is a massive week for Spurs and their quest to secure a European place when the final ball of the season is kicked.

Following that dour win against Everton, they face an out-of-form Bournemouth on Thursday before that all-important clash against Arsenal at the weekend.
Kane likes scoring against the Gunners and will be licking his lips at the prospect of coming up against an Eddie Howe defence that has leaked nine goals during their last two matches.
