Writing in The Player’s Tribune, Raphinha has shared what Bruno Fernandes texted him when he was on his way to Leeds.
Despite the fact they both play for two massive rivals, it’s no secret that Raphinha and Fernandes are very good friends, dating back to their time together at Sporting.
Inevitably, when Raphinha was headed to England, he reached out to Fernandes, and the Portuguese ace made a prediction about the Brazilian.

Raphinha claims that Fernandes predicted that his style would fit the English game well, and it’s fair to say he was right.
“Bruno has helped me so much, man. In Portugal we would talk a lot and go out for meals. When I went to Rennes, he advised me. The guy is so clever. When I was on the plane to Leeds, he texted me saying my style would fit the league. He was right again,” Raphinha wrote

Fernandes obviously knew Raphinha’s game very well, because he was spot on with this prediction.
The Brazilian has been a real breath of fresh air since joining Leeds. Every time he gets onto the ball he looks as though he’s going to make something happen and his workrate is second-to-none.
He’s a brilliant fit for the English game and he’s a brilliant fit for Marcelo Bielsa’s system.
Leeds have certainly got a gem on their hands with Raphinha.
