Speaking on Liverpool’s official YouTube channel, Harvey Elliott has been adding his commentary to the Liverpool vs Newcastle game earlier this season.
The Reds beat the Magpies 2-1 earlier this term in an absolute humdinger of a game, and there were some standout performers on the day.
Alexander Isak was one player who impressed on his Newcastle debut that day. He bagged a goal and had another dubious goal disallowed due to offside.
When reviewing the game, Elliott reserved some special praise for Isak, stating that he was ‘very good’ on the day against the Merseyside club.

Isak praised
Elliott spoke highly of Newcastle’s record signing.
“This is the goal, it’s a great finish to be honest. He was lively that day as well. He was very good. It was very disappointing on our behalf,” Elliott said.
Made an impact
Isak was certainly red hot that day.
It was his Newcastle debut and he wanted to make an impact, and he certainly did that.
His opening goal was brilliantly taken, and if it wasn’t for a marginal offside, perhaps he would have been the game winner for Newcastle.
As it stands, this loss to Liverpool is the Magpies’ only defeat of the season, but even then there were some serious positives to take from this game.
Isak was brilliant on his debut, and he could well become an absolute superstar at St James’ Park in years to come.
Yes, Callum Wilson is making all of the headlines at the moment as he continues to push for a place in England’s World Cup squad, but let’s not forget that Isak is waiting in the wings ready to return and get back amongst the goals.
