Kevin Campbell has suggested that Edu may have been ‘forced’ to do an interview on Sky Sports about Arsenal’s current situation, as he told the Highbury Squad.
Arsenal’s technical director recently sat down with Sky to talk about their summer transfer business, their mindset and plans going forward.
Even though the North London outfit spent over £100 million in the summer, a lot of questions were still asked as to where the club is really heading.
On top of that, with Mikel Arteta losing his opening three Premier League games of the season, it hasn’t helped anyone’s cause at the Emirates Stadium.
But club legend Campbell shared his thoughts on that Edu interview and the club’s decision to agree to that during their troublesome situation.
“I am done with the crying of people now about our plight,” said Campbell. “What’s the point in crying over it now?
“And Edu coming out, he didn’t need to do that. But maybe he got forced to do it.
“I honestly thought it was alright. Some people have said that they don’t know the direction the club is going in. He said that he was telling the direction the club is going in.
“He mentioned some very important stuff. 21 players have been shifted out of the club. That’s a lot of players.”

It’s clear a PR move from Arsenal and them trying to appease their own fans and dampen the mood around the place.
In truth, the best way to do that is to by winning on the pitch, but the Gunners are struggling to put the ball into the back of the net, nevermind gets some points up.
Come this weekend, when they line-up against Norwich, if they fall to a defeat, then it’s going to be seriously difficult for Arteta to survive.
If he can’t turn things around, and is sacked, then someone like Edu will also be under fire, no doubt.
