Kieron Dyer has claimed that Jonjo Shelvey has ‘come out of his shell’ under Eddie Howe at Newcastle, as he told Sky Sports Premier League.
Just like many players at St James’ Park, Shelvey has transformed under his new boss, despite Dyer previously thinking he was ‘coming to an end’ at the club.
Take your pick, Joelinton, Shelvey, Fabian Schar or even Joe Willock, they are looking much, much better than what they were producing under Steve Bruce.
Shelvey, as the £12 million signing (BBC Sport) showcased during his days in the Championship, always had the skills to make that ball talk and walk.
But now Dyer thinks it’s all coming out from the expert passer, who can now call himself a regular starter under Howe.
“Even Shelvey, he’s another one who was probably thinking he was coming to an end,” said Dyer.
“But since Eddie Howe has come in, he has come out of his shell and started to play really well as well.”

There aren’t many players in the Premier League that can ping a pass like Shelvey can when he is on top form.
Not so long ago, he was on Liverpool’s books, and for a reason.
The issue hasn’t been a lack of talent from the Englishman, but problems with consistency and application out on the pitch.
With the ball, he can be a genius, but without it, Shelvey has previously proven to be a liability.
