The Australian has just received his first call-up to the Australia national team.

Australia recently announced their 30-man preliminary squad ahead of the Confederations Cup next month – with a first call-up for Groningen winger Ajdin Hrustic. The 20-year-old came to the fore with the Dutch side last month, after making his debut against AZ Alkmaar. He went on to play seven times for the club, scoring an excellent goal against PEC Zwolle, his first in senior football.
The former Schalke 04 youngster, who is good friends with Manchester City wing wizard Leroy Sane, has been of interest to English sides before – namely Nottingham Forest.
Groningen fans
The Melbourne-born winger moved to England with his family at 14-years-old and spent time at Nottingham Forest as a teenager, but was never tied down to the club’s academy.
That is now looking like a mistake, one which Forest should try to fix this summer.

Hrustic could be an excellent signing for Forest, if they move quick and try and tempt him back to England this summer.
He is looking like a strong talent for both club and country and Mark Warburton could work wonders with the youngster if Forest act fast.
If not, they may be left ruing their inability to snap him up as a kid in the years to come.
