Ian Wright has claimed that Harry Kane was ‘all over the place’ at the start of the season, but Antonio Conte has now got him ‘back on side’ at Tottenham.

It was well-documented in the summer that Manchester City – who have since signed Erling Haaland – wanted to sign the Tottenham hitman.

Nuno Espirito Santo was in charge of Spurs at the time, as Kane didn’t start their first few games after returning late from his holidays.

The England captain struggled during the first half of the campaign, but ever since Conte stepped foot into the dugout, he has looked like his old self again.

Wright labelled Conte as a ‘world-class’ manager and touched upon where Kane was at the start of the campaign, as he told Premier League Productions (19/05/22 at 1:10 pm).

“First-class manager and a world-class manager,” Wright said of Conte.

“Then you add into the mix Harry Kane, who at the start of the season mentally, I think he was all over the place.

“You didn’t know what you were going to get everything that was going to happen with Manchester City.

“You get Harry Kane back on side. Son playing like he’s playing. Bringing in Kulusevski.”

HARRY KANE VERY LIKELY TO STAY AT CHAMPIONS LEAGUE-BOUND TOTTENHAM

Tottenham need a point away at Norwich City on the final day of the Premier League season and they will secure Champions League football – Wright says it would be the ‘most Spursy of Spursy things’ if they slip-up now.

All of this will be music to the ears of fans because many would have been worried about Kane and Conte’s futures if they had missed out.

But Daniel Levy now has something seriously impressive to work with and, if he backs his trophy-laden coach properly, then Spurs can go places next season and beyond.

For Kane, it’s all about winning that trophy and he can do that if Conte gets what he wants from those higher up at Spurs.
