Brighton fans enjoyed Ben White’s performance at Elland Road on Saturday after he helped his side record a 1-0 win against Leeds – and they couldn’t help but poke fun along the way after what happened in the summer.
For the first time since helping Leeds earn promotion to the Premier League, White returned to where it all started, but this time in a Brighton shirt.
It would have been difficult viewing for Leeds fans because they wanted him to join the Yorkshire outfit permanently in the summer.
Whilst White did put pen-to-paper on a new Brighton contract, it didn’t go without any drama and well-documented reports that Leeds were desperate for him to re-sign and him wanting to go.
Nonetheless, Brighton supporters thought he had the game of his life yesterday as Graham Potters men picked up a valuable three points.
Some Brighton fans thought he was the Man of the Match and it’s fair to say that Leeds could do with his services right now.
But that ship has sailed now because White is now being rumoured to be attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool.
The Daily Mail claim that those on Merseyside would have to put £50 million on the table if they want to snap him up this month.
Nonetheless, whilst praising White’s performance, Brighton fans couldn’t help but remind those at Leeds about what occurred over the summer.
