The West Ham United ace will be desperate to prove his doubters wrong.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s clash with Bournemouth on Saturday, and praised the quality of Samir Nasri, suggesting that the midfielder ‘wants revenge’, as quoted by Football.London.
The 31-year-old joined the Hammers at the start of this month on a short-term deal, and despite only making two appearances, he already seems like he will go on to be a real hit at the London Stadium.
Many believed that bringing Nasri to West Ham was a huge risk, considering the fact that he had not played a competitive match in over 12 months, due to a doping ban.
And Pellegrini seemed to allude to the Frenchman’s time away from football as a potential motivation for him to prove his worth during the reminder of the campaign, as quoted by Football.London:
“I said when I gave him the chance to work with us, I know he is a different player now but has a lot of quality, he wants revenge in football to return to be the decisive player that he was with me at Manchester City. His quality, nobody had any doubts about it.”
Nasri has it all to do if he is to earn a longer term deal with West Ham, but if he continues to display the quality that he has showcased in the last two games, he has every chance of doing just that.
