Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to Bernd Leno’s comments about his future at the club.
It’s pretty clear that when it comes to contract negotiations, Arsenal are relegation fodder in that regard and that’s been proven over years.
Leno’s current deal at Arsenal expires in two years and he told Football London that he is ‘open to everything’ in regards to his future in North London.
He did also state that he could also ‘stay at Arsenal’ but anything could be made of those comments from the German.
Aaron Ramsey’s contract was criminally run down by the club, Mesut Ozil was handed a lucrative deal that ended up bitting the club on the back and, the ageing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, hasn’t been seen since he signed his big-money deal.
For Leno, during these past two seasons, when Arsenal’s defence has continued to underperform, mistakes after mistakes and continual changes, the £20 million man (BBC Sport) has kept his cool and produced the goods.
Plus, it wasn’t too long ago that Arsenal sold Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa and it could now be argued that he has been the best goalkeeper in the division.
Arsenal simply have to make the right call with Leno, because as they have proven before, they aren’t exactly masters when it comes to making contract decisions.
