Gabby Agbonlahor says Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane, gets into ‘most’ teams on the international stage, including ahead of Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus of Brazil and Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal, as he told talkSPORT on Thursday morning.

The England captain is preparing for his side’s opening game at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on Monday when Gareth Southgate’s side take on Iran.

Kane was the top-scorer at the 2018 World Cup in Russia and he will be up there with the best of the best to claim that Golden Boot award again, that’s if the Three Lions go deep into the competition.

From Lautaro Martinez, of Copa America winners Argentina, to Arsenal’s £45 million man (Sky Sports) Gabriel Jesus or Kane’s Spurs teammate, Richarlison – one of them is expected to start for tournament favourites Brazil.

Football’s biggest tournament is going to be littered with some of the best goalscorers across the globe and Kane will be one of the big stars.

Whilst Agbonlahor thinks Kane gets ahead of many of them, he does feel there is one side that would probably place the 29-year-old on the bench.

“You have got Brazil, with Neymar, Vinicius Jr and Gabriel Jesus,” said Agbonlahor. “Would I have Kane over Gabriel Jesus? Yes, I would.

“Messi, Di Maria and Martinez. I would have Harry Kane instead of Di Maria. France maybe not. Mbappe, Benzema and Dembele. No.

“He walks into Belgium’s team. Hazard hasn’t been great. Portugal, he goes into as well. I would have Kane over Ronaldo, as a front three, I would have Kane over most of them.”

KANE IS ENGLAND’S BEST PLAYER

After being a penalty away from winning his first major trophy as a player at Euro 2020, Kane will be hoping for success in Qatar because his career is deserving of it.

The Tottenham striker isn’t having much luck on the domestic stage, especially given that Antonio Conte’s side were recently knocked out of the League Cup.

But could the biggest trophy of them all land on Kane’s doorstep this winter? At the end of the day, if Gareth Southgate wants his side to do the unthinkable, then his best player needs to turn up.
