Tim Sherwood told Sky Sports that Tottenham’s Harry Kane would ask him what Alan Shearer was like in training.
The former midfielder believes that Tottenham’s thriving hitman has a ‘similar determination’ to the man that was recently inducted into the Premier League’s Hall of Fame.
Ex-Spurs boss, Sherwood, has a Premier League medal to his name when he captained Blackburn to the title in 1995, with Shearer the one causing havoc up top, alongside his partner in crime, Chris Sutton.
Whilst it was a long road to the top for Kane, it was Sherwood who gave him that first real push at Tottenham, as he shared what the England captain would ask him about Shearer.
“When I come through in my career and developing players like Harry Kane,” said Sherwood.
“I used to tell him (about Alan Shearer) and he used to ask me ‘what was he like?’ and ‘what was he like in training?’
“Harry Kane has got a similar determination and drive as what Alan Shearer had.”

Whilst Shearer is the Premier League’s all-time highest goalscorer, at least he can accompany that with a winners medal.
At this moment in time, Kane cannot, even though he might end up surpassing Shearer’s record by the time his career finishes.
That’s the one stumbling block for the player, who is currently leading the goalscoring charts in the league this season, as well as the assists table.
