Speaking to GQ, Raheem Sterling has been discussing Jordan Henderson and how hard the Liverpool midfielder works.
Sterling, of course, knows Henderson well from his time at Liverpool and also his time as an England international, and he had nothing but good things to say about the Reds’ skipper.
Indeed, Sterling says that not only is Henderson a great leader, he’s also one of the hardest-working players he’s ever seen, describing him as a hard trainer and someone who delivers in the big moments.

Sterling hails Henderson
The ex-Liverpool man spoke highly of his England teammate.
“Again, another leader. He works and works and works. So whenever you see someone who gets their praise and some of the stuff he achieves he deserves every single thing. You say about hard work, he is the definition of that for me. He trains like he plays and he delivers in the big moments. He leads Liverpool by example and he’s another player we’re lucky to have in the national team,” Sterling said.
Perseverance
Sterling is absolutely right about Henderson, this is a player who is the true embodiment of what it means to work hard.
Let’s not forget, Henderson’s Liverpool career was nearly ended back in 2012 when the Reds attempted to swap him for Fulham’s Clint Dempsey.
However, Henderson opted to stay at Anfield and fight for his place, and now, one decade later, he’s one of the most decorated captains in the club’s history.
Henderson wasn’t blessed enough to be an immediate star for Liverpool and England, but with the right attitude and mindset, he’s fought his way to the very top of this sport.
You’ll do well to find a player who has worked as hard or for as long as Henderson has.
