Wales stand-in boss Rob Page has shared on Sky Sports (18/11/20 at 7:35 pm) that Liverpool defender Neco Williams missed tonight’s clash against Finland because he ‘took a kick to the foot’ on Sunday.

Page stated that the Liverpool right-back is ‘a little bite sore’ as another name is added to the mounting injury list at Anfield.

Compared to others, Williams’ setback has been deemed as a ‘knock’ and Jurgen Klopp will be eager to know if he’s fit and available for their weekend clash against Leicester City.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold out of action, it could be argued that Williams would step in, but that may not be the case now.

“Neco picked up a knock in Sunday’s game it was quite a physical battle at times,” said Page. “He took a kick to the foot, so it’s a little bit sore with him.”

In truth, it’s pretty idiotic to have an international break during these times, especially when club managers are complaining about player fatigue and injury.

The big problem is that the most difficult part of the season is yet to kick in and that could result in more players being in the treatment room.

Either way, those on Merseyside will be glad that there isn’t another international break until March because it has cost them dearly.
