Steve McManaman praised Arsenal right-back Calum Chambers on BT Sports 1 (8:30pm, April 15, 2021).

The former Liverpool star said that Arsenal defender Chambers has responded to pressure on him for a place in the starting lineup.

The BT Sports pundit believes that the 26-year-old has been superb for Arsenal, and praised him for getting in the team ahead of Hector Bellerin and Cedric Soares.

McManaman made the comments about Chambers during the live commentary of the Europa League game between Slavia Prague and Arsenal on Thursday evening.

The Englishman said about Chambers on BT Sports 1 (8:30pm, April 15, 2021): “Fair play to him, he has played very well since he has come in at right-back considering Bellerin’s on the bench, Cedric’s on the bench. There’s pressure there for him. He stood up yet again, been excellent, Calum Chambers. All credit to him.”

Important player for Arsenal

Chambers played well for Arsenal on Thursday evening, as Mikel Arteta’s side got the better of Slavia 4-0 in Prague in the second leg of the quarter-final tie to book their place in the semi-finals of the Europa League.

The England international defender is an important player for Arsenal and has done well when he has been called into action this season after recovering from injury.

Chambers is still only 26 years of age, and there is a lot more to come from the England international.

Arsenal will be determined to win the Europa League this season, and they could still finish in the Premier League top four.
