Dion Dublin was left amazed by how Bernardo Silva managed to ‘come out with the ball’ despite having five Liverpool shirts surrounding him on Sunday, as he told BBC Sport.
In the first half of Liverpool and Man City’s enthralling 2-2 draw, Silva, picked up the ball in Liverpool’s half and was instantly surrounded by Red shirts.
But rather than panic, go backwards or try to con the referee by trying to win a foul, he seemingly attacked a magnet to his boots and managed keep hold of the ball.
He drove forward and then played a brilliant forward pass to Phil Foden, but he was unable to finish the chances that was expertly handed to him.
Ex-Premier League striker Dublin was amazed by Silva’s actions and how he ‘stands up Van Dijk’ at one point.
“I don’t know how Silva came out of that with the ball,” said Dublin.”He had about five red shirts around him and pirouettes to the left, pirouettes to the right.
“He stands up Van Dijk and then slides in Phil Foden.”

Since his £43 million move from Monaco to Man City in 2017 (Sky Sports), Silva has been a standout performer, for Man City and Portugal.
During the period, where he won Euro 2016 and helped Pep Guardiola to a remarkable 100 points, it could be argued that he was one of the best players on the planet, at the time.
It may not have been rewarded with an individual award, but it does seem as though Silva is now back and producing those performances again.
Even though there were question marks over his future in the summer, it seems as though he is firmly back in Guardiola’s plans.
