Paul Merson has told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports that Leeds-linked Adama Traore just ‘stands still’ and he has to ‘do more’.

90Min have previously reported that Leeds are keen to sign the Wolves winger, who has stalled on putting pen-to-paper on a new contract.

Whilst Leeds fans need more defensive quality at the back, a player like Traore would work wonders and be utterly dangerous under Marcelo Bielsa.

But Merson shared a critical view of Traore’s game and where he needs to improve.

“Personally, I think he has got to do more,” said Merson. “I think he’s got to be harder to pick up.

“I think sometimes he stands still and he relies on the ball coming to him. I think he has got to get into little pockets where the fullback thinks ‘Do I go in there or do I not go in there?'”

Even if Traore leaves the field with no goals or assists to his name, he would still be an absolute nightmare to deal with.

In Bielsa’s attack-minded and 100 miles per hour system, Traore’s pace on the flanks would be quality that would elevate their attack even further.

Bielsa is a master at improving players and it’s scary to think what the highly-demanding coach could do with Traore.
