David Seaman has spoken in awe of Aaron Ramsdale and how he has ‘really quick feet’ for a goalkeeper and that has helped the Arsenal number one play at the top of his game.
The Highbury legend added that he was sent video clips by Aaron Ramsdale’s goalkeeping coach, Inaki Cana, in training and the quickness of his feet were ‘amazing’.
In recent weeks, many Arsenal fans have been left deflated by their dropped points at Liverpool and West Ham United.
But Ramsdale has probably been one man that has stood tall, including his performance at Anfield, which saw him earn plaudits far and wide.
One of Arsenal’s best players and a tremendous signing following his transfer in 2021, Seaman spoke about how his quick feet allow him to perform so well out on the pitch, as he told Premier League Productions (16/04/23 at 1:20 pm).
“He’s about really quick feet and then great reach, Aaron,” said Seaman. “The quickness of his feet is amazing.
“I went in with his (goalkeeping) coach, Inaki (Cana) and he showed me a lot of video clips of Aaron doing footwork drills. They are so quick and so light. It enables him to run either way.
“With Aaron, you see a lot of different saves, like with his feet and when he is charging players down.”

There were question marks when Ramsdale was first signed up by Arsenal, but Mikel Arteta had a clear plan in place and saw a quality in the player that others didn’t.
One area of the game the England international has excelled in is his ability to play out from the back.
That has played a big part in Arsenal’s rise under Arteta and why they are sitting at the top of the Premier League table.
