Gareth Bale has raved about his Wales teammate and Tottenham Hotspur central defender Joe Rodon on BBC Sport.
The departing Real Madrid winger is a big fan of Rodon, and believes that the 24-year-old deserves to play regularly for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham.

Rodon moved to Tottenham from Swansea City in October 2020 and has played only 15 times in the Premier League.
The defender is a regular for Wales and helped them qualify for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.

Bale said about Rodon on BBC Sport: “For me he should be playing at Tottenham, he’s shown time and again how good he is.
“He’s a top professional, a great young player, he knows himself he needs to be playing week in week out and he wants to be playing week in week out.
“I don’t think he’s had the opportunity to play a consistent run of games for Tottenham, I think if he did he’d be fantastic for them.
“Even if he has to go to another team he will strengthen them, no matter who they are.”

Spurs exit this summer?
Joe Rodon has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur, and, in our view, it would make sense if he does find a new club, perhaps on a loan deal.
The defender does not play much for Tottenham, but when he turns out for Wales, he always gives his best and does extremely well.
Rodon can get better in the coming years, but for that, he needs to play on a regular basis at club level.
That is not going to happen at Tottenham, which is why, in our opinion, he needs to leave and find a new club.
