Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing what Mohamed Salah told AS about a recent decision made by Jurgen Klopp.
In an interview with the Spanish news outlet, the Egypt international shared his views on the decision to captain Trent Alexander-Arnold against FC Midtjylland.
Salah said: ‘Honestly, I was very disappointed. I was expecting to be the captain… but it’s a manager’s decision, so I accept it.’
The former Borussia Dortmund manager told BT Sport that it was the most ‘logical’ decision to hand the armband to the England international, who came through Liverpool’s academy.
You can understand why Klopp handed Alexander-Arnold such a responsibility, but you can also understand why Salah might’ve been upset by it.
The former Chelsea attacker is a player who seems to enjoy taking on responsibility, whether that’s in the form of scoring vital goals, or stepping up for nerve-wracking penalties.

In our view, there’s nothing wrong with him wanting to captain Liverpool, on one night where the group’s usual armband-wearers in Jordan Henderson and James Milner didn’t start.
We would be more concerned if Salah said that he had no interest in wearing the armband.

Every player in Klopp’s squad should be striving to wear it, or at least act like a captain without it.
Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about his comments…
