Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Antonio Conte’s mood at Tottenham amid rumours that his future is up in the air.
The Athletic reported this week that the club aren’t overly confident that Conte will sign his new contract at Spurs, but according to Gold, not all that much has changed behind the scenes.
Indeed, the journalist says that Spurs are still hopeful about getting their manager tied down to a new deal, stating, importantly, that he seems very happy around the club.

Conte still happy
Gold shared his view and what he knows about these rumours.
“It’s just a thing that happens. It’s happened at previous clubs. What I’ve said before is absolutely still the case. Spurs are hopeful that they can get him to sign a new contract and that he seems happy around the club. The last time we spoke to him last month he said that he’s in no rush to do it and it would be something down the line,” Gold said.
Not hugely alarming
As Gold says, these rumours about Conte shouldn’t be hugely alarming at the moment.
There are rumours circulating about the gaffer’s future, but do they ever stop?
Pretty much since day one, there has been speculation about Conte leaving Spurs, and that’s because he has a reputation.
Conte is known for ditching his clubs early and falling out with owners, so this is something of a self-fulfilling prophecy at Tottenham.
The Italian is almost expected to leave Spurs in acrimonious circumstances at this point. Therefore, stories are always going to emerge to that effect, even if the situation isn’t that serious.
In reality, it sounds like Spurs don’t need to worry too much here.
