Rodrigo Bentancur has been speaking to Sky Sports about his start to life at Tottenham, and former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was mentioned.
What’s the story?
Well, Bentancur has revealed that Suarez told him to join Spurs, while Edinson Cavani also nudged him in the direction of north London.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the Uruguay international said: ‘Suarez said it would be a great move for me and it would help me both professionally and personally. If I needed anything, he was willing to help me out.
‘Edinson Cavani got involved too. I asked him, even though he will be an opponent, and he said it was a spectacular league to play in and it would benefit me greatly.’
Only time will tell if Bentancur’s switch to the Premier League does turn out to be a “great move” for him, but the early signs are promising.
The 24-year-old impressed on his first Premier League start last weekend, despite Spurs suffering a 2-0 defeat to Wolves.
As WhoScored shows, Bentancur made two key passes and also completed two dribbles, while the South American also made three tackles and one interception.
Rodrigo Bentancur was a great signing by Tottenham

In our view, people will look back on this transfer as a real bargain – Fabio Paratici truly used his contacts in Italy to good effect last month.
Despite boasting vast experience at international level and also in the Champions League, Spurs managed to sign Bentancur for just £15.8m.
Furthermore, at the age of 24, the Uruguayan has plenty of time on his side to get even better, especially under a coach like Antonio Conte.

Even if things go sour, Spurs should at least be able to make their money back, given how little they spent on him.
Once he settles in the Premier League, Tottenham fans may be pleasantly surprised at how good a signing this turns out to be.
