‘He really loves playing for Arsenal’: Gunners told linked-away star won’t leave

Tony Cascarino has claimed that Bukayo Saka won’t leave Arsenal this summer because he ‘really loves’ the club, as he told talkSPORT. 

The former striker added that Mikel Arteta wouldn’t allow Saka to leave the club given what he is trying to build in north London.

Saka is perhaps Arsenal’s most impotent player, one of the first names on the team sheet and now an England regular.

Turning 20 during the 2021/22 Premier League campaign, he struck 11 goals in the league, as the Gunners narrowly missed out on Champions League football.

There is talk of Saka possibly leaving the Emirates this summer, but Cascarino thinks the versatile forward will stay put.

“Every time I have watched him, and I have seen him a few times live, that he really does love playing for Arsenal,” said Cascarino.

“He’s comfortable and you know the fans adore him. And that’s a great place to be for a player.

“It might be later on in his career that he ends up moving on. But I feel it’s the right place for him now, to continue his journey with Arsenal.

“You think of what Arteta is trying to achieve at the football club, it’s going to be ‘right, I have seen a lot of things I like and certain players that we need to keep, how do we move forward?’

“He’s not going to be letting anyone go. Even if they go to him and say ‘I want to move on’. I don’t imagine him agreeing to anything like that. I don’t.”

It will worry Arsenal fans that the Premier League’s top two are keen on their Hale-End star.

If Saka were to head to the Etihad, then it’s not the first time one of their players have left to head for Manchester City.

That proves how far the club have fallen over the years, but this is their chance to put it right.

This is where those in the Arsenal boardroom have to showcase ambition, back the manager even further, sign the elite players and keep their star men.
