HITC Sport spoke to three West Ham United supporters ahead of the winter transfer window.

West Ham United look to be turning things around under David Moyes, but that’s unlikely to stop the Scot wanting to add to the squad he inherited from Slaven Bilic at the first opportunity.
So who should we expect to arrive at the London Stadium in January? HITC Sport spoke to three knowledgeable Hammers to find out…

What do you think West Ham’s budget will be? Rumour has it we’ll have around £30 million to spend but you never really know with our owners these days!
In what positions do they need to strengthen? Priority has to be midfield, in particular a holding midfielder, and then a centre-half.
Who would be your dream January signing? I’d love it if we could secure a deal for [Sporting Lisbon midfielder] William Carvalho. What happened in the summer is water under the bridge now and I hear a deal isn’t completely dead – but would he want to sign up for a relegation battle now?
Who would be a realistic January signing? I think [Swansea City defender] Alfie Mawson is a realistic signing and I think he’d prove to be a very good one regardless of the large transfer fee reportedly involved.
Which players do you expect West Ham to sign in January? Who knows with us these days. We’re used to be told to expect big names but always end up being underwhelmed. I honestly couldn’t name one name I think West Ham fans can expect to see in claret and blue next month because the club just doesn’t do business like other normal football clubs.

What do you think West Ham’s budget will be? Around £30 million, which nowadays gets you a couple of decent players but is a fair amount and would take our net spend closer to what it should have been during the summer.
In what positions do they need to strengthen? Defence (right- and centre-back) and midfield (particularly central midfield).
Who would be your dream January signing? I think [West Brom defender] Jonny Evans would be a very sensible signing but I’d love to see us go for Carvalho again – he really is the missing piece.
Who would be a realistic January signing? [Arsenal midfielder, Jack] Wilshere, but only if he doesn’t sign a new deal.
Which players do you expect your team to sign in January? [Manchester United midfielder, Marouane] Fellaini, who has worked with Moyes before, or Evans. Hopefully Wilshere or Carvalho, too.

What do you think West Ham’s budget will be? I’d say at least £20 million.
In what positions do they need to strengthen? Central midfield is an absolute must. A younger upgrade on Mark Noble is required. I would also like to see us sell [Andy] Carroll and bring another striker in
Who would be your dream January signing? [Leicester City winger, Riyad] Mahrez, although that really is living in the realms of fantasy!
Who would be a realistic January signing? [Striker, Aleksandar] Mitrovic, who has admitted to wanting out of Newcastle.
Which players do you expect your team to sign in January? [Bournemouth’s] Harry Arter has been linked. Potentially Jermain Defoe, who has worked with Moyes before, but then again was injured recently.
