Jordan Henderson praised Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic for his performance during England’s goalless draw against the USA.
The Liverpool midfielder added that Pulisic ‘played well’ as the USA produced the better showing during their Group B outing at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Pulisic perhaps produced one of the best chances of the game when his thunderous shot smacked the crossbar, but despite the USA dominating the midfield, they still couldn’t get that all-important goal.
Nonetheless, Henderson came off the bench to many people’s surprise in Doha, as he praised USA’s midfield and Pulisic’s qualities out wide, as he told the Lion’s Den.
“I thought all of them as a team were really well organised,” said Henderson. “They have quick wingers to counter-attack.
“Pulisic played well. We know him from the Premier League. But I thought their midfield was good. They are very athletic and solid. Plus, the defence was organised. A good performance right through the team.”
PULISIC’S FUTURE
It will be interesting how well Pulisic cooks at the World Cup because it might just get him a move during the January transfer window.
Whether it’s Frank Lampard, the recently-sacked Thomas Tuchel or now Graham Potter, he has always struggled for regular starts at Stamford Bridge.
In order for the 24-year-old to progress in his career, he needs to leave and there are a few big giants, including the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool looking to sign him.
If that’s the case, then a positive World Cup in Qatar will only increase his chances of getting that big move.
