Michael Dawson has been left wowed by Arsenal new boys Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko following their transfers from Manchester City this summer.

The former Tottenham defender thinks the duo have taken Arsenal to the ‘next level’ and someone like Zinchenko ‘never gives the ball away’, as he told Sky Sports News.

Mikel Arteta’s side have won their opening four Premier League matches and they have every chance to make it five from five against out-of-sorts Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

It has been a long time since Arsenal had a great summer window, did the business in pre-season and then actually started the campaign in such a strong fashion.

But that’s where the club is at, with the new faces, such as Jesus and Zinchenko, providing the magic touch to Arteta’s Champions League-chasing team.

Nonetheless, the two have impressed a rival from across the pond as Dawson shared what the Premier League title winners have brought to London.

“You look at Jesus and Zinchenko, they are two players who have taken Arsenal to the next level,” said Dawson. “The quality in training. The way they play.

“The number nine bullies players. He brings them up the field. Zinchenko is playing like he is at Man City. He picks up the ball where I am thinking ‘where is my fullback going?’. He doesn’t care. Arteta doesn’t care because he never gives the ball away.

“So they have spent money – and they have improved so much from where they were last season with two or three players.”

WILL MORE FACES JOIN?

The summer transfer window slams shut on Thursday and it has been a pretty positive one for those in the Emirates boardroom.

Perhaps Jesus or Zinchenko would be the standout purchases, but could another face be added to Arteta’s squad before the deadline?

An old name is cropping up again, with Crystal Palace superstar and Arsenal fan, Wilfried Zaha, possibly heading for the exit door.

Could Arsenal finally sign the all-action winger? He has one-year left on his contract at Selhurst Park and this is the last chance for Palace to cash in on one of their most important players or lose him for nothing next summer.
