Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumours that Gini Wijnaldum has given the club hope that he could stay at the club.
The Telegraph are claiming that interested parties, Barcelona and Inter Millan, have yet to reach a pre-contract agreement with the Liverpool technician.
And it has left the door ‘open’ for the 30-year-old to continue his stay on Merseyside beyond this season.
Despite Liverpool suffering such indifferent form this term, Wijnaldum has perhaps been one of Jurgen Klopp’s more consistent performers.
But it has been well-documented that his energetic talents could take him from Merseyside to the Nou Camp, where his former national boss, Ronald Koeman, is trying to steer the Barcelona ship the right way.
A man of great versatility, Wijnaldum has been an underrated cog in Liverpool’s wheel and a player they will be severely missed if he leaves this summer.
Liverpool supporters are seemingly edging towards the side of allowing him to leave because they think a lack of an agreement with interested parties is increasing his chances at staying at Anfield, rather than him actually wanting to stay.
Either way, the £25 million man (BBC Sport) continues to remain a key figure in this Liverpool team and he will be hoping to do the business against Real Madrid in the Champions League tonight.
