According to 90Min, Arsenal are now amongst the teams interested in a move for James Maddison this summer.

The Gunners already have one of the most exciting attacking cores in the Premier League, and adding Maddison to the mix would only make them more dangerous.

This is a move that is likely to go down well in north London, and one Arsenal legend is also sure to be excited by this move.

Indeed, Paul Merson is a huge fan of Maddison, and he spoke incredibly highly of the Leicester star before the World Cup.

Merson loves Maddison

Merson wrote about how much he rates Maddison on Sky Sports late last year.

“There’s nobody playing better than James Maddison right now – as an English forward. He could be the gem. He’s a player that not a lot of people are going to know. People watch the Premier League but he won’t be on the radar of many teams,” Merson wrote.

“They’ll be talking about Sterling and Rashford and Kane – they won’t be talking about Maddison. He could be the one to catch teams cold. He makes things happen and he’s in a rich vein of form – I make him a shoo-in.”

Brilliant

Maddison to Arsenal would be a mouth-watering move to say the least.

With the way the Gunners play, Maddison could genuinely end up being one of the most entertaining players in the Premier League if he headed to the Emirates.

Of course, there are questions to ask about how much gametime he would get, but even as a depth option, Maddison would be a joy to watch under Mikel Arteta.

This is a move that even neutral fans should be slightly excited about.
