The agent of Jaidon Anthony has told The Daily Echo that the Bournemouth winger is not planning to leave for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal or Brendan Rodgers’s Leicester City in the January transfer window.
The Daily Echo have reported that Arsenal and Leicester are among the clubs interested in signing Anthony from Premier League rivals Bournemouth this month.
Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen are also claimed to be looking at a possible deal for the 23-year-old winger.
The youngster was on the books of Arsenal from 2006 until 2016.
Anthony is out of contract at Bournemouth at the end of the season.
The winger’s agent has said that the Bournemouth star does not plan on leaving this month, adding that he wants to sign a new contract and extend his stay at the Cherries beyond the end of the season.
Agent on Arsenal target Jaidon Anthony
Godfrey Torto said: “I can’t comment on the particular clubs in terms of speculation, but with Jaidon running into the last six months of his contract, it’s natural that clubs would be interested in a player of his talent and age.
“However, Jaidon has always indicated he’s happy at Bournemouth. He does love the club, as seen after the Burnley game – he stayed out with the fans, he wrote a letter to them as well.
“He loves the club and his focus is trying to help the club get results, and try and stay in the league.”

Torto added: “In terms of the contract situation, we are in dialogue.
“I think Jaidon has always been wanting to stay at the club and I think the main thing is trying to find a fair deal that he’s happy with and works for the club.
“But we are in dialogue and it was last left for the club to come back. So, that’s where the situation is, basically.
“He is happy at the club and we are in dialogue about a contract, but we’re just waiting to hear back from Bournemouth.”
Could a transfer happen?
In our view, it is unlikely that Arsenal will be able to sign Jaidon Anthony, either in the January transfer window or next summer.
The Cherries are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, and they will surely not want to lose any players now.
Yes, Anthony may not eventually sign a new contract with Bournemouth, but that does not mean that he will move to Arsenal.
After all, the Gunners are well stocked in wide areas, and that could dissuade the winger from joining Mikel Arteta’s side.
Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka are the two regular wide players, and Arsenal have only just signed Belgian winger Leandro Trossard.
